Green Room Arcadia 1
I thought of this work immediately when I started to conceive my work for the fellowship because it has a synergistic relationship to Katthy Caveliere’s early work, in particular with Katthys Room from Artspace 1998. Katthy and I were aware of each others work and saw each other at regular intervals in the late 1990’s.
In this video documentation of the project at W139 Gallery 1997. I show some aspects of the installation.In this work I slept in the gallery in Amsterdam for a month, I show how this was starting wear me down at bit with the first clip when my friend is trying to make me coffee. The only way to get food and drink in or out of the space which did not have a door was via a basket on a pully system. The inside of the room had a live feed to a shop window further up the street. The gallery is in the red light district of Amsterdam. Also shown are the notes people left me about the work and the daily diary which is hung on the wall behind the cube.
